A family workshop.
Nearly 60 years strong.
Stuart Moore Motors Ltd has been part of the Thames community since 1967. What began as a Volkswagen workshop grew into a Holden dealership workshop — with the original Europa service station out front — and has since become a three-generation family business. Through every era the values have stayed the same: honest advice, quality workmanship, and looking after locals like family.

Where it all started.
When Stuart Moore opened the doors in Thames in 1967, the workshop was a dedicated Volkswagen service centre, with the local Europa fuel station attached out front — the meeting place for locals filling up on their way through the Coromandel.
As the years rolled on, the workshop became a Holden dealership workshop, and today we service all makes and models. Cars have changed enormously since 1967, but the promise hasn't: do the job properly, tell the customer the truth, and stand behind the work.
The Moore family
Stuart opens the workshop in Thames, laying the foundation for a family legacy built on honesty and quality workmanship.
Dale takes the reins, modernising the workshop while keeping his father's values at the heart of every job.
James now owns and operates the workshop, carrying forward nearly six decades of trust into a new era.
Modern workshop.
Old-school values.
Today's cars need modern diagnostic tools, up-to-date training and specialised equipment — and we've invested in all of it. But when you walk in, you'll still get the same welcome Stuart's customers got in 1967.
We work on all makes and models, we're WINZ approved, and we'll always tell you exactly what your vehicle needs — nothing more.
